If you are anything like me you begin thinking about your holiday/special event outfits well in advance. I know that I usually begin thinking about it early on because I usually travel and visit family. We are usually attending huge parties and seeing everyone that we haven't seen in months. Obviously times have changed. These upcoming winter holidays may be different for all of us but that doesn't mean we can't still have a little fun with our outfits! I am going to share with you some of the outfits I am considering and hope to give you some inspiration!
Dressy and Comfortable
This is most likely going to be my number one option this year. This velvet swing dress from loft is PERFECT for a comfortable holiday at home. But also dressy enough to make me feel like I tried to get dressed for the day. This dress comes in a beautiful shade of deep greenish-blue and has the prettiest little silver button embellishments on the sleeves. Since it is a swing dress it is super loose and flowing which is perfect for a quarantine holiday! I ordered this size in a large and its definitely true to size. If you want it more flowing I would suggest getting your normal size. If you want it more form fitting I would suggest getting it a little smaller. I am still deciding on if I will wear tights underneath the dress or just roll with nothing. I guess it depends on what the weather wants to do.. will it actually feel like winter or will it be 70 degrees like the other day! That remains to be seen! Fun and Festive
I absolutely LOVE this dress. To start it is red and what is a better color for the holidays? Second it is soooo flattering. From someone who just had a baby 8 months ago and is not completely comfortable with wearing anything form fitting right now, this dress is so perfect. This is also one of those reds that will go with black, brown, gold, etc. It is a very versatile shade of red which I like because I am not a big color wearer. I am going to have to wear a cami or bralette underneath due to my large bust but other than that this is a perfect wear and go! When I wear this dress I think I am going to go the more brown and gold route and pair it with my camel booties and gold jewelry. (click the picture for a direct link)
Casual and Cozy
My next option are the awesome shirts from Jane. They are super cute holiday tees that are super comfortable and great quality. I have one that says "Jolly' and one that has Christmas trees in various prints (animal, buffalo plaid, etc). I think both of these shirts will be super cute paired with some ripped jeans and some cute sneakers. This is definitely on the more casual end of the spectrum but a super festive outfit that will be sure to be a hit at your holiday event! (click the pictures for a direct link!)
Super comfy- a holiday at home
My last option is the most comfy. This set from Express is the best thing I have purchased all year for two reasons. The first is that it is super comfortable, soft, and warm. The second is because it is fancier than your average sweatsuit because there are rhinestone embellishments on both the sweatshirt strings and the pant pockets! Since this Christmas is going to be super quiet and low key this is definitely high on my list of things to wear. At the very least this is something I will be changing into at the end of the night. If you buy anything from this post I HIGHLY suggest this outfit right here. It has totally surpassed all of my expectations and I will be super picky about my future sweat shirt/pants purchases. Thank you for bearing with me as I went through all of my possible outfit choices. I would love to hear from all of you... what do you think I should do this holiday? What are YOU wearing?
